About the work
What exactly does Monolitica do?
Monolitica helps municipalities, local authorities and industrial companies turn operational problems into intelligent systems. We map processes, connect tools and data, and deploy solutions that reduce manual work and support better decisions.
What organisations do you work with?
We work mainly with municipalities, local authorities and industrial companies. These are organisations where processes cross several teams and systems, and where a well-applied operational improvement can have significant impact.
What are intelligent agents?
They are systems capable of executing tasks with rules, context and controlled access to the right tools. They can, for example, search for information, prepare documents, track processes or route requests, while keeping human oversight at critical points.
Getting started and implementing
How does a project start?
We start with a diagnosis and by mapping the operation. We talk to the teams, observe the workflows and identify where there is the greatest potential for impact before proposing technology.
Do you need to arrive with a defined use case?
No. If you already have a specific problem, we assess its viability; if you don’t yet know where to start, the diagnosis helps prioritise opportunities by value, risk and implementation effort. In municipal institutions, this prioritisation is done with the managers and teams involved.
How long does it take to have something in production?
It depends on the process, the data and the integrations required. A first, focused use case can reach production within a few weeks; initiatives involving several systems, validations or security requirements take longer and are planned in phases.
Do you integrate with the systems we already use?
Yes. We design solutions to work with the existing context, including ERP, document management, SAP, Primavera, databases and internal applications. When a system does not offer a direct integration, we assess safe alternatives before proceeding.
Data and security
What data is needed and how is it handled?
We use only the data necessary for the use case and define access, retention and responsibilities before implementation. Processing is governed by the GDPR and, when the project requires it, the architecture can keep storage and processing within the European Union.
Can the systems run on-premise or in the cloud?
Yes. The architecture can be cloud, on-premise or hybrid, depending on the organisation’s security, performance, cost and integration requirements. The decision is made together with the technical teams and documented in the solution design.
How do you manage security and permissions?
We apply the principle of least access - each person and each system accesses only what it needs. We include authentication, access profiles, activity logs and human review of sensitive actions according to the project’s risk.
Is our data used to train models?
Not by default. We select configurations and providers that do not use client data to train their models, and we formalise that condition in the project’s framework. Any exception would need to be assessed and agreed in writing.
Adoption and results
Do teams receive training?
Yes. Training accompanies implementation and is adapted to whoever uses, manages and maintains the solution. The goal is for your team to be able to operate the system autonomously, so municipal teams do not remain dependent on Monolitica day to day.
How is impact measured?
We define a baseline and indicators before implementation, such as time per task, volume processed, errors, response times or freed-up capacity. We then track usage and compare results to decide what to adjust or expand.
